Geographically partitioned spatial synchrony among cyclic moth populations

Article Abstract:

Patterns of spatial synchrony among cyclic autumnal moth Epirrita autumnata populations across Fennoscandina are described. A positive correlation in population growth rates between the time series was observed indicating spatial synchrony and results emphasized that high amounts of environmental variation may result in a clear structuring of spatial synchrony at unexpectedly small scales.

Within-population craniometric variability of insular populations of deer mice, Peromyscus maniculatus, elucidated by landscape configuration

Article Abstract:

Research on the deer mice species Peromyscus maniculatus indicates that dispersal behavior and landscape barriers, rather than geographical distances alone, are better predictors of genetic variability with populations. Data were obtained from P. maniculatus populations in the Lake Duparquet region of Quebec, Canada.

Non-significant results in ecology: a burden or a blessing in disguise?
