On angling as an act of cruelty

Article Abstract:

The cruelty issue on angling made by A. Dionys de Leeuw implicates two views which claims that anglers are not indeed cruel people and that they just innocently engaged in an activity that is cruel. However, the argument is claimed to be a false premise since human activities are results of human character. However, the act of cruelty still depends on the purpose of the activity whether it's for enjoyment with a purpose or just for sadistical pleasure.

On contemplating the interests of fish

Article Abstract:

A. Dionys de Leeuw's assertion states that recreational fishing is not a fish-friendly sport. He contends that angling causes pain, fear and suffering to fishes. However, there is no proof that fishes are indeed capable of experiencing pain. On the other hand, de Leeuw has a point in saying that anglers do harm the fishes. It is only through eating that the act is being justified, being more important than amusement.
