The current and future management of wild mammals hunted with dogs in England and Wales

Article Abstract:

The results of a questionnaire study conducted in England and Wales is presented, to quantify the use, effectiveness and acceptability of the different methods currently used to manage wild mammals and future changes in management following a possible ban on hunting with dogs. It is said that a ban on hunting with dogs would make no difference to the management of the wild mammals, except hares, since the most effective way is shooting by day.

Modelling the costs of fox predation and preventive measures on sheep farms in Britain

Article Abstract:

The lamb predation of foxes in Britain is used as an effective tool for the development of a theoretical economic model. This model is very useful for minimizing the total costs of livestock , evaluating wildlife impacts and cost-effective management.
