Green paper for Scots lawyers

Article Abstract:

The Green Paper on Scottish legal reforms has so far been received without outcry from Scotland's legal profession. The major proposed reforms on legal practices include: extending solicitors' rights to appear in the highest courts; opening senior judicial appointments to solicitors; and giving direct public access to advocates. The Green Paper is a minor version of the proposed reform program in England, which has so far met cool reception, causing the Government to launch a one million pounds sterling public relations campaign.

The American Agricultural Economics Assn. (AAEA) will hold its annual Summer Meetings on July 28-31, 1996, in San Antonio, TX. The Winter Meetings of the Allied Social Science Associations will held on January 3-5, 1997, in New Orleans, LA.
