Competing utility emissions plans may create congressional hurdle

Article Abstract:

Information about the current political activity of the energy utility industry is given. Utility companies have formed a coalition to win congressional support to establish a multi-pollutant emission reduction regime for the industry which will address the need for change or elimination of the EPA's new source review permit program.

Settling refiners seek level playing field under NSR reforms

Information is presented regarding the current lobbying and political activity of company in the oil refinery industry. After settling with the EPA for new source review violations, industry companies are urging the Bush administration to insure that competitors who have not settled such cases do not gain unfair advantages.
