Compost on EPA menu for managing storm water

Article Abstract:

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) promulgated rules for storm water management, which were implemented in two phases and EPA explains that these minimum control measures are implemented by applying one or more Best Management Practices (BMPs) appropriate to the source, location and climate. The practices listed in its national menu of BMPs is intended to provide guidance as to the types of practices that can be used to develop and implement storm water management programs.

Phase II storm water rule in effect

An overview is presented on the Environmental Protection Agency's new regulation for storm water management. It requires any planned construction that disturbs more than one but fewer than five acres to meet best management practices for controlling erosion and sediment transport.
