Finding the cause behind the cause: incident management officers

Article Abstract:

The Lancashire Combined Fire Authority introduced a team of incident intelligence officers in April 2006 to reduce fire casualties in the county. The task of these officers is to identify causes of fire by monitoring public behavior patterns before and during fires.

Waltham Cross alight again

Firefighters attended to a fire in Birchwood Industrial Estate in Hoe Lane, Nazeing, Essex. They successfully prevented a fire in a large diesel wood processing machine from spreading to waste timber piles 60 feet high .

Tornado chaos confronts London Fire Brigade

Article Abstract:

The London Fire Brigade responded to a tornado that struck Kensal Rise, London on 7 December 2006. A total of 80 firefighters, 11 pumping appliances and seven fire rescue units were deployed to the area.
