Helping dairy farmers stay and create energy

Article Abstract:

King County, Washington Executive Ron Sims plan to help dairy farmers in the Enumclaw Plateau stay economically viable and protect the region's water by collecting manure and turning it into electricity. The lists of experts who will execute and address the project are DariTech-provider of equipment and custom product for the dairy community, Biothane- provider of industrial biological wastewater treatment systems, RCM Digesters-developer of anaerobic digesters for cow manure.

Sustainable water supplies with wastewater recycling

Article Abstract:

The village of Cloudcroft with its 1,000 population at an elevation of 9,000 feet would install a water recycling system that includes a membrane bioreactor and reverse osmosis with ultra filtration technology. The new wastewater system would utilize the Sanitaire Dual Stage bioreactor to supplement the irrigation water demand and the potable water supply.

Biosolids and biodiesel team up for sustainable economics

Article Abstract:

University of Washington researchers and Yakima farmers are partnering to develop an integrated biosolids-to-biodiesel fuel production process. Biosolids are used as a source of nitrogen for growing canola, which in turn is converted to biodiesel via its extracted oils.
