Burgundy prices soar as collectors stampede key auction

Article Abstract:

A charity auction of Burgundy wine from the prestigious Domaine de Hospices de Beaune saw prices soar as collectors competed for the wine. The sale is usually an indicator for prices of Burgundy, but experts feel this will not be the case for the 2000 vintage.

Burgundy vintners seek ban on genetically altered vines

Article Abstract:

Winemakers from Burgundy, France, have joined together with other vintners to protest against the introduction of genetically modified organisms. A watchdog organization, Terre et Vin du Monde, has been set up to encourage further research.
