Barbecued ribs are considered to be an American creation and the two most prominent styles have come from Memphis, Tennessee, and Kansas City, Kansas. Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous restaurant in Memphis and RUB (Righteous Urban Barbeque) in New York are famous for Memphis and Kansas style barbecued ribs, respectively.
