Napa Wine Train rolls to success and adds new stops

Article Abstract:

The Napa Valley Wine Train celebrated its seventh anniversary in Sep 1996, and passengers can visit Grgich Hills Cellar in Rutherford and other new stops. Plans for a stop in St Helena and Domaine Chandon in Yountville are also in the works. A history of the project is presented.

Hot weather poses the greatest threat to wine that is shipped, especially if the wine is unfined or unfiltered. Most wines are safe to transport in a moving van in the spring, fall, or winter. Some shippers offer temperature-controlled storage.

Doctor prescribes wine as group therapy

Jim Nard's frustration at a local wine-tasting session spurred him to start his own wine-tasting group in Youngstown, OH. According to members of his group, the pediatrician's wine-tasting sessions have changed their lives.
