Pushing Piedmont ahead: a conversation with Domenico Clerico

Domenico Clerico, one of Piedmont's most passionate and outspoken vintners produces exciting Barolos from Ciabot Mentin Ginestra and Pajana, his small vineyards near the town of Monforte d'Alba and his new produce includes the Percristina that includes high prized from Piedmont. He considers himself as a vineyard grower first and winemaker second and has a long range of single- vineyards.

A tale of two vintages: 1995 Bordeaux reds outshine 1996s, but both vintages offer values

The successful 1995 and 1996 Bordeaux vintages are compared, concluding that the 1995 reds are fresher, fruitier and better-structured than the 1996s. But both the vintages offer great values at auctions, presenting wine lovers and collectors with a choice of excellent buys.
