Restaurant Latour: One man's passion builds a wine mecca in northern New Jersey

Article Abstract:

Restaurant Latour in the Crystal Springs Resort located in northern New Jersey, offers an impressive combination of food and wine. The wine cellar, which stocks 28000 bottles is a mix of vintage wines such as a 42-vintage vertical of Chateau Latour of 1888 and 21 vintages of Mouton-Rothschild (1934) and modern-day high-quality wines such as Dalla Valle and Heitz Martha's Vineyard, the result of a passionate collection by Gene Mulvihill, the owner of the resort.

Whiplash in the Loire

Article Abstract:

Three vintages from the Loire Valley, France's most extensive wine region, demonstrate a variety of styles, each with its own strengths and drawbacks. Customers who enjoy ripeness might look for the 2003s, while those who prefer bright acidity choose the 2004s, and the ones looking for balance and intensity go with the 2002s.

Rain in the rhone: Though the 2002 vintage was largely a washout, 2003 promises better wines to come

Article Abstract:

The momentum build by France's Rhone Valley during its terrific four-vintage run from 1998 through 2001 stalled in 2002, when harvest rains wiped out much of the region's red wine production. Based on early tastings, the 2003 vintage have helped to put Rhone among the world's elite wine regions.
