Texas investor re-launches bankrupt winery near Lubbock

Article Abstract:

Thompson purchased Teysha winery and has renamed the 119-acre vineyard Cap*Rock. The winery previously bottled sparkling wine, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay under its own label and sold wine in bulk to other bottlers. The winery has an attractive new label.

Peter Michael Winery was instrumental in developing the processes that make the California Chardonnays of the 1990s so complex and creamy. His winemakers took steps to produce wines low in tannins. Steps developed by winemaker Helen Turley are described.
