Cookbooks of unique Provence cuisine are described. These include Mireille Johnson's 'The Cuisine of the Sun,' Richard Olney's 'Provence the Beautiful Cookbook,' Linda Montgomery's 'Pedaling through Provence Cookbook' and Georgeanne Brennan's 'The Food and Flavors of Haute Provence.'

Autumn walnuts

Article Abstract:

Walnuts signal the beginning of the holiday season and are oftentimes used to enliven the Thanksgiving table. Various walnut recipes including apple, endive and parmesan salad with walnut vinaigrette, walnut biscuits and walnut butter cookies are presented.

A healthy diet can prevent heart disease by lowering fat and sodium intake and controlling the amount and type of cholesterol consumed. The physiological effects of a poor diet are examined. Strategies for maintaining a healthy diet are discussed.
