Yosemite in winter: chefs' holidays at the Ahwahnee

Article Abstract:

Each winter in Yosemite, from mid-November through January, chefs and vintners gather at the Ahwahnee Hotel to conduct cooking classes. At this time of year, the food is superb and the scenery even better. The park is very crowded in the summer, but pristine in winter.

California's central coast: beyond Big Sur

Visitors to this scenic area can enjoy a beautiful coastline and fine accommodations. The central coast offers vineyards, excellent dining and more. Several hotels and restaurants are recommended and towns along Highway 1 are described.
