FS proposes no roads, no logging for NF areas

Article Abstract:

The US Forest Service's planned forest management policy to protect national forests has raised mixed reactions from forest industry leaders and environmentalists. The new forest policy would require no road construction or timber harvesting in 130 national forests. The health of federal forests would be significantly affected by the new policy in some public opinions.

There she goes again

Article Abstract:

Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) introduced legislation that would stop commercial logging in the national forests. The title of the bill is the National Forest Protection and Restoration Act, and it has 46 co-sponsors. However, the bill is considered too radical and magazine readers are encouraged to contact their Congressperson.
