Cold comfort: a negotiating trip to North Korea was a chilling experience in more ways than one

Article Abstract:

A 1997 meeting between North Korean officials and representatives of the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization is remembered for the extreme cold and absence of any hotel amenities, as well as for the North Koreans steadfast refusal to allow outsiders to see the rundown condition of the only nearby hosptial.
