Confirming your copyrights

Article Abstract:

Copyright is a good deal, whether or not registered for it gives the user exclusive rights to modify, display, distribute, or transfer the rights. The first (and only required) step is to put a copyright notice on the actual work. The notice is the user's name, the year, and the word Copyright. You can use abbreviation Copr. or the international symbol. Samples can, and should, be submitted to the Copyright Office within three months after publication. Consider registration because it is needed before infringement proceedings can be pursued. The Copyright Office will provide info about correct forms and fees.
