Changing geographical patterns of electronic components activity

Article Abstract:

Studies have indicated that geographical movement or dispersion has not occured within the US high technology industry. This is due in part to the nature of the industry itself, whose products have a short product life cycle. This short product life cycle renders any geographic dispersion unfeasible in the long run. Although the US share in this industry has fallen due to competiton from foreign countries, the US is still a central figure in high technology development.

District-by-district analysis: assembly

Article Abstract:

The election prospects of the candidates for the Califoria Assembly are presented. The decade-long Democratic domination of the Assembly will be adversely affected by district reapportionment and term limits imposed by Proposition 140. Of the Assembly's 80 districts, the Republicans had increased their share from 33 to 37. The Democrats are, however, expected to remain the majority due to infighting between Republican moderates and conservatives.
