Level-headed about empowerment

Article Abstract:

Employee empowerment is an innovative management concept that has to be carefully planned and applied to make full use of the advantages it provides. The concept involves seven degrees of employment involvement, ranging from decisionmaking made solely by management without consultation with employees to a level where work groups form to decide on a need and break up voluntarily. This last stage represents the ideal application of the concept where employees are fully committed to the decisionmaking process.
