Advances in care of premature babies create ethical dilemmas

Article Abstract:

The continuing advances in technology enable people to survive more serious illnesses with greater awareness about their legal and ethical rights and the move to a more open culture within health care. The Charlotte Wyatt case about receiving life-prolonging treatment to the gravely ill premature baby, was about weighing up the quality of life and the effects resuscitation will have against her right to a pain free, peaceful and dignified death.

Conservative management of varicose veins

The symptoms of varicose veins like complaining aches, pains, cramps, heaviness and need for early treatment to reduced risks related venous incompetence are described. The importance of nurse-led clinics in the treatment of patients complaining of varicose veins is discussed.
