Can curcumin cure cystic fibrosis?

Article Abstract:

The newest therapeutic candidate for cystic fibrosis is curcumin, a so-called nutraceutical agent or dietary supplement that is a mixture of compounds derived from the curry spice turmeric. The next step is to test the nutraceutical curcumin in a phase 1, dose-escalation and safety trial in patients with cystic fibrosis.

Homocysteine lowering with folic acid and B vitamins in vascular disease

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to assess whether supplementation reduced the risk of major cardiovascular events in patients with vascular disease. It was found that supplements combining folic acid and vitamins B(sub 6) and B(sub 12) did not reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in patients with vascular disease.

A controlled trial of long-term inhaled hypertonic saline in patients with cystic fibrosis

Article Abstract:

The safety and efficacy of inhaled hypertonic saline in a long-term trial was tested in people with cystic fibrosis. Hypertonic saline preceded by a bronchodilator is an inexpensive, safe and effective additional therapy for patients with cystic fibrosis.
