Do cranberries help prevent urinary tract infections?

Article Abstract:

The effectiveness of cranberries in the treatment and prevention of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and for those at risk of such infections is examined. The studies have shown that although cranberries are effective at reducing the risk of UTIs they are unable to confirm any relationship between the consumption of cranberry extract and the prevention of UTIs.
