Effect of parathyroid hormone-related peptide on human and rat myometrial contractility in vitro

Article Abstract:

Parathyroid hormone-related peptide may play a role in the induction of labor. It relaxes the uterus in non-pregnant women and pregnant women, but not pregnant women who are in labor.

Thrombin and PAR1-activating peptide: effects on human uterine contractility in vitro

Article Abstract:

The effects of thrombin on spontaneous human uterine contractility in vitro, tissue obtained in the presence and absence of pregnancy are investigated. The result reveals that uterotonic effect that is elicited by protease-activated receptor 1(PAR1) activating peptide plays a major role for (PAR1) in the thrombin mediated contractile effect.

Inhibitory effect of leptin on human uterine contractility in vitro

Article Abstract:

The effects of leptin on human uterine contractility in vitro are investigated. The physiologic inhibitory effect of leptin on uterine contractility might play an important role in the dysfunctional labor process related with maternal obesity, and the resultant high cesarean section rates.
