Research With Drosophila Provides Clues to Enhancing Human Memory

Article Abstract:

Researchers have identified a gene that may be involved in the formation of long-term memory. The gene codes for cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein (CREB), which regulates gene expression. Ten drugs have been found so far that affect this gene, and could be used to enhance long-term memory formation in humans.
