Long-term neurodevelopment outcome of 167 children after intrauterine laser treatment for severe twin-twin transfusion syndrome

Article Abstract:

A study to investigate long-tem neurodevelopment outcome of children born after intrauterine coagulation for severe twin-twin transfusion syndrome was conducted. The results revealed that with a high rate (86.8%) of normal neurodevelopment outcome and an incidence of only 6% of major neurologic deficiencies, intrauterine laser coagulation seemed to be the best treatment option for severe twin-twin transfusion syndrome.
