MGMA-AAMC survey takes look at academic practices

Article Abstract:

The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the Association of American Medical Practices (AAMP) have released the 'Faculty Practice Activities Survey: 1997 Report Based on Fiscal Year 1996 Data,' a report that compares the practices of physicians in academic medical centers and private practices. The report measures medical school faculty performance in terms that are comparable to those used to measure full-time physicians.

Is primary care ready for medical abortion?

Article Abstract:

A study published in Journal of the American Board of Family revealed that Medical abortion or RU-486 could be administered safely and effectively in a family practice setting. The reasons for physicians being slow to take up medical abortion in the family practice setting, that includes ethical considerations, their religious beliefs and possible negative community reaction are discussed.
