Moved to tears

Article Abstract:

Main political parties in the United Kingdom have a habit of slowly adjusting their position on health policy and other policies to avoid attracting attention. They are reluctant to acknowledge that they have modified their opinion for fear of being criticised. The Labour party has finally given a clear indication of its preference for privatisation despite being traditionally opposed to it. The Conservative party has made careful modifications to policy on the exchange rate mechanism. Other examples are given.

A love Labour's lost

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom Conservative Government believes it has the upper hand over the Labour Party with regard to its National Health Service (NHS) policy. The Conservatives have pledged to increase NHS spending while Labour is unable to commit a similar pledge as its budget has not yet been allocated. The Government's White Paper on the NHS also pledges to provide care for everyone via tax funding, which means the Labour Party can no longer easily claim that the Conservatives plan to privatise the NHS.
