Omphalocele: clinical outcomes in cases with normal karyotypes

Article Abstract:

A study to examine neonatal outcomes in cases of karyotypically normal cases of omphalocele reveals that in cases of ongoing omphalocele, perinatal mortality rates are low in the absence of associated anomalies or genetic defects. Intracorporeal liver is not associated with increased rates of associated anomalies.

Renal biopsy and pregnancy

Article Abstract:

A kidney biopsy in a pregnant woman with symptoms of kidney disease should be avoided unless the result of the biopsy could avoid a premature delivery. It should also be done to make a diagnosis other than preeclampsia, which is a complication of pregnancy.
