Oral antiplatelet therapy in cerebrovascular disease, Coronary artery disease, and peripheral arterial disease

Article Abstract:

Evidence regarding oral antiplatelet treatment in patients with cerebrovascular disease, coronary artery disease and peripheral arterial disease is described. It is proposed that aspirin, ticlopidine, clopidogrel, aspirin combined with clopidogrel, and aspirin combined with dipyridamole are effective in preventing recurrent vascular events among various subgroups of patients with vascular disease.

Sex differences in outcomes after cardiac catheterization: effect modification by treatment strategy and time

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to determine whether the extent of coronary disease, treatment strategy, and follow-up time influence the risk of death in women vs. men among patients who possess cardiac catheterization. The results show that sex-based difference in death rates after cardiac catheterization is time-and treatment-specific.
