Osteopetrosis

Article Abstract:

Osteopetrosis is a heterogeneous group of heritable conditions in which there is a defect in bone resorption by osteoclasts, which are multinucleated cells of hematopoietic lineage that are critical for bone remodeling. It is reported that hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation plays a major role in patients with intrinsic osteoclast defects and severe osteopetrosis.
