Preparing for the ergonomics standard: how will the standard apply to your workplace?

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) proposed ergonomics standard are discussed. If an employer already has an ergonomics initiative in place before the standard is implemented, this will not have to comply with all the provisions of the OSHA's rule.

Companies employing more than 10 people are legally required to develop emergency response programs. The program should identify hazards and detail action to deal with fires, chemical spills, bomb threats, natural disasters, and workplace violence.
