OSHA's top ten violations

Article Abstract:

A review of the ten most common violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's standards is presented. The emphasis is upon the most serious, willful and repeat violations and is headed by scaffolding accidents.

Ergo standard faces uncertain future

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the lawsuits which are being brought against the ergonomics standards put into place by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The attitude of President George W. Bush to the standard is discussed.

OSHA's big 10: do the hot-button standards catch the worst hazards?

Article Abstract:

The 10 most violated standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for FY 1998 ending on Sept 30 are discussed. The top three are the Hazard Communication standard with 7,505 citations for violations and Scaffolding-Construction and Fall Protection-Construction with 6,239 and 4,369 citations, respectively. Others on the list include the Lockout/Tagout, Mechanical Power Presses and Machine Guarding-General standards.
