Removing a partially loose fixed prosthesis

Article Abstract:

Removal of a loose fixed partial denture can damage the prosthesis, adjacent teeth, and abutments. Relatively new dental prostheses which have loosened may be worth salvaging, but patients with older dentures may be better served with a new prosthesis. Dentures affixed with resin or resin-glass ionomer cements are very difficult to remove undamaged, but crowns held by polycarboxylate and zinc phosphate are easily dislodged. The ATD Bridge Remover is a useful tool for removing fixed partial dentures. Working casts can be used to guide removal and restoration efforts.
