Safety improvements urged for MRI facilities

Article Abstract:

Several experts gathered for a teleconference on September 21, 2005 to educate physicians and technicians about the current state of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging practices. Safety experts believe that adoption of new guidelines and other measures would reduce hazards of MR imaging like failure of implantable devices, burns, and injury from projectiles drawn by the device's powerful magnet.
