Article Abstract:

The guidelines, known as the Robson Model, developed by Janet Robson are being used not just in care homes but also by district nurses to help individuals in their own homes from falls. The key areas of concern for the falls including no proper lighting in the nights, tea time rush and medication are detailed and their solutions are also provided.

Nurses are assuming the new role of health visitor, to help new mothers cope with postnatal depression. Mary Alabaster, nurse consultant in a postnatal mental clinic, was the first to undergo health visitor training and set up a group for addressing mothers suffering from postnatal depression.
