Texas court dismisses battery charge in resuscitation case

Article Abstract:

The Texas Supreme Court dismissed the charges of battery and negligence against The WomanEs Hospital of Texas with respect to Sidney MillerEs case. The court ruled that the hospital had not committed battery when their staff put four-month old Sidney Miller on life support against her parentsE wishes in 1990, neither were they negligent as they had no policies to prevent the child from being treated without parental consent.
