The application of color power angiography to the longitudinal quantification of blood flow volume in the fetal middle cerebral arteries, ascending aorta, descending aorta, and renal arteries during gestation

Article Abstract:

Color power angiography may be useful in measuring blood flow in fetuses. Researchers tested this alternative to color Doppler ultrasound on 81 fetuses between 24 and 38 weeks' gestation. It can detect blood flow in small arteries that are hard to visualize using other techniques.

Birth weight and 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure in nonproteinuric hypertensive pregnancy

Article Abstract:

Hypertension during pregnancy may lead to lower birth weights, according to a study of 237 women. This was especially true if diastolic blood pressure was elevated. The link between low birth weight and hypertension may be due to a genetic susceptibility to hypertension.

A longitudinal study of quantitative uterine blood flow with the use of color power angiography in appropriate for gestational age pregnancies

Article Abstract:

Color power angiography can be used to measure blood flow in the uterine arteries. This non-invasive method can be used to study the early stages of pregnancy, when the uterine arteries are remodeled to provide blood flow to the fetus.
