HEDIS for the Primary Care Provider: Getting an "A" on the Managed Care Report Card

Article Abstract:

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) a nonprofit organization, accredits health plans, measures quality, and provides consumers with this information. Health plan auditors gather data from billing forms and medical records, which the health plan uses to submit at Health Plan Data Set. Health plans can purchase "report cards" that evaluate 71 performance measures from the NCQA to see how they compare with their peers.
