The impact of universal access to dental care on disparities in caries experience in children

Article Abstract:

Having access to universal dental insurance will not necessarily lead to lower rates of dental cavities in children, according to a study of 955 children in Nova Scotia, Canada. Children of parents with a university education were less likely to have cavities than children of parents with less education.

Regular dental visits and dental anxiety in an adult dentate population

The factors associated with regular dental visits in an adult population are investigated. The impact of dental anxiety and other determinants like dental insurance and income, on regular dental visits in a representative adult dentate population in the Detroit tricounty area are examined.

Determinants of dental care visits among low-income African-American children

Article Abstract:

The key factors that determine the frequency of preventive dental care visits made by low-income African-American children to dental care providers are examined. Child's age, caregiver's qualification and the type of children's dental insurance are significant driving elements.
