Article Abstract:

Improving Working Lives programme is based on a simple proposition that healthier and happier staff makes for healthier, happy patients. The programme is divided into a number of specific standards covering the main areas that impact on staff welfare at work, which includes flexible working, equality and diversity, healthy workplaces, childcare, training and development and staff involvement.

Single referrals for inpatient and community rehabilitation

Article Abstract:

The introduction of a single system for inpatient and community rehabilitation stemmed from a desire to simplify access to rehabilitation services and it was intended that in turn this would ensure that more patients were assessed for their suitability. A specialist multidisciplinary team skilled in assessment would decide which model of rehabilitation would meet individual needs.
