When the clock strikes 12 ...: the risks of waiting till the last minute to prepare for Y2K

Article Abstract:

'Best Practices Manual for the Year 2000' author Steven Davis points out that the year 2000 transition problem is not limited to computers. It also concerned with facilities, embedded systems and vendors. Thus, safety professionals should also be well-versed with the problem and they should verify the systems they are using if they are compliant. Any device which has time as an input should be checked, such as heat-monitoring equipment, fire alarms, air-quality monitors and carbon monoxide detectors.
