Should HCAs take on more essential nursing care? We consider whether health care assistants should be given greater scope in practice

Article Abstract:

Two nurses debate whether health care assistants should be given increased responsibility in nursing care. One argues that health care assistants are valuable as assistants to nurses but do not have the training to take on more involved tasks. The other believes that both nursing care assistants and nurses should have increased responsibilities.
