Technology origins of foreign-owned firms in Ohio

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the origins of present and initial technologies used by foreign-owned companies engaged in business in the state of Ohio is presented. The study, which used logistic regression analyses and the Chi-squared Automatic Interaction Detector (CHAID), reveals that present and initial technologies of foreign firms in the area are fully consistent with each other. The investigation further points out that the relative importance of exporting is associated with US technologies, while the relative importance of importing is aligned with foreign technologies.
