Telstra Corporation announced in early 1998 that it will invest US$2 bil to prepare for future expansion of its business. Investments will center on satellite and information technology and on its telecommunications infrastructure. Telstra has also bought a 10% interest in ATT's WorldPartners, a global communications venture, and has discussed working with Microsoft to develop broadband network communications.
