Boomers fill gap

Article Abstract:

Many companies are looking for experienced baby boomer professionals who can make an immediate contribution to their organization, owing to their solid track records of performance and sound judgment and their ability to mentor and develop others. Lack of succession planning and leadership development in many companies result in a lack of skilled executives to replace retiring managers, leading to retention and recruitment of older professionals.

America's Job Bank to end

The US Department of Labor has announced that it will end America's Job Bank (AJB) in 2007. AJB, the first national online job board launched in 1995, is to be terminated due to high operating costs and the increasing competition of private-sector online job boards.
