Confusing legislation fails pregnant women, EOC interim findings reveal

Article Abstract:

The report of Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) has expressed some concerns regarding the law on maternity rights. It has advised the employers to plan for a tool kit to minimize the disturbance caused by the pregnancy and develop a model of policies to improve communication with the employees. EOC has advised employers against the health and safety, law enforcement and support to the employees.

2005 - a pivotal year for managing retiree medical benefit costs

Article Abstract:

A new medicare Part D drug benefit rules are going to be enforced from the year 2006. The importance of the time left in the year 2005 for employers to redefine their retiree programs and financial commitments for a long term is discussed. The highlights of the Part D medicare program and alternatives available for the employers are also presented.
