Employee participation is a sign of the Times in LA

Article Abstract:

The Los Angeles Times Time Employee Action Means Success (TEAMS) program includes 40 teams and a total of 300 employees. TEAMS is a problem-solving, quality circle approach that also helps improve participant public speaking skills, project planning ability, and group functioning. Projects covered by the eight-to-ten person groups have included a range of issues, including records management and data storage. TEAMS has been successful enough that Times management foresees increased use of the program, and expansion to interdepartmental teams which will work on solving common problems.
