Well-earned?

Article Abstract:

The UK's Health & Safety Executive estimates that work-related ill health costs businesses some 2.5 billion pounds sterling for 1995/96, with 1.6 billion pounds sterling for illnesses and 0.9 billion pounds sterling for injuries. Non-injury accidents are thought to account for between 1.4 billion pounds sterling and 4.5 billion pounds sterling. An analysis of the cost factors is presented and the effect on the workplace of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is discussed.
